Jawan Day 1 Box Office (Overseas): Shah Rukh Khan starrer creates havoc in international markets

The much talked about and highly anticipated Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan finally hit screens yesterday. Directed by Atlee and starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, in addition to SRK the expectations for the film have been at an all-time high. In fact, in the run up to its release trade predictions claimed that the business of the film would set new box office benchmarks. Living up to the same, Jawan, which enjoyed a good spate of advance bookings, has opened with a bang. In the international markets as well, Jawan has been creating havoc.

In fact, within the overseas markets of Australia and New Zealand the Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster has managed to debut at the number 1 spot. Collecting A$ 398,030 [Rs. 2.11 cr.] in Australia and a further NZ$ 79,805 [Rs. 39.12 lakhs] Jawan has managed to top the weekend box office charts in both these locations. If that was not enough, in Germany Jawan has managed to draw in € 146,014 [Rs. 1.30 cr.] to claim the third spot on the weekend box office chart. Besides these locations, Jawan has been performing extremely well, in the UK the film managed to collect £ 208,061 [Rs. 2.16 cr.] with more locations yet to be added. Similarly, in the overseas market of USA – Canada the film has opened to a flying start with updated collections yet to come in.

Currently, Jawan that has received highly positive reviews looks set to dominate the box office. In fact, with immense anticipation, audience craze and little to no competition the business of the film is expected to sky rocket. Based on current trend trade predictions state that Jawan is sure to see its collections grow exponentially over its opening weekend.

Gulshan Devaiah starts shooting Ulajh with Janhvi Kapoor and Roshan Mathew; says I am playing a complicated part

Gulshan Devaiah has started shooting for his upcoming film Ulajh. The movie has Janhvi Kapoor and Roshan Mathew as his co-stars. Since the movie is about Indian Foreign Services (IFS), the major portion of the shoot is expected to be done in various foreign locations. Sharing his reaction on the commencement of the film’s shoot, Gulshan said in a statement, “It’s been a good year for me so far and Ulajh has a great cast put together and I’m really looking forward to filming this film with them.
