It was quite a surprising turn of events at the box office for the Hindi version release of Valimai as the film couldn't really find any sort of audience. Quite a contrast since the Tamil version saw a record opening for itself, especially on Tamil Nadu, but the Hindi version couldn't really find itself on its feet. This was evidenced from the first four day collections of the film which stand at Rs. 1.50 crores*. Ideally, one would have hoped that these would be the first day numbers for the Ajith starrer. After all, the veteran actor is pretty much known in the Hindi belt as well, considering the fact that numerous dubbed films of his films have traditionally done well on the satellite circuits. Moreover, the blockbuster success of Pushpa [Hindi] had made one assume that if Allu Arjun can do it then Ajith Kumar can do it as well. Powerhouse performers Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah have collaborated for the first time for the film Jalsa directed by Suresh Triveni of Tumhari Sulu fame. Yes, there was the dubbed Hindi version of Pushpa in between that kept audiences busy. However, the wait was on for a true Bollywood offering to make a mark at the box office. This has happened now with Gangubai Kathiawadi seeing footfalls coming in for two days in a row. Badhaai Do couldn’t do much on the weekdays of the second week as it was riding primarily on the power of the weekends. The first weekend was Rs. 7.82 crores and then the second was Rs. 4.29 crores. That’s Rs. 12.11 crores out of 16.89 crores that the film collected in the first 10 days, which shows how contribution from the weekdays has been minimal. Hence, it was not surprising to see weekdays dipping again. The City Civil Court of Hyderabad has issued an ad-interim injunction on releasing the upcoming show ‘ Lock Upp’ hosted by Kangana Ranaut. The order is awarded after a hearing and checking the documents of the petitioner Sanober Baig – who happens to be the sole right holder of the story and the script of the concept ‘ The Jail’ . The court also took on record the video clip of the trailer of ‘ Lock Upp ’ and concluded that it appears similar. Since the show was to be released on 27th February 2022; the court has passed the order with an urgent notice prohibiting the exhibition of the show on any electronic media, social media, etc. The concept is owned by Pride Media through its proprietor Sanober Baig and was written by Shaantanu Ray and Sheershak Anand and registered under the copyright act on 7th March 2018. A while back we saw the release of the Rajkummar Rao – Bhumi Pednekar starrer Badhaai Do . Dealing with a rather niche topic the film was never really expected to establish records, however its lacklustre performance at the box office has not come as a surprise. After a low key opening weekend and first week the business of Badhaai Do has continued to remain low in its second week as well. Badhaai Do managed to draw in just Rs. 6.74 cr. in its second week, taking its overall collections to Rs. 19.34 cr. Now that’s the kind of rejuvenation that Bollywood was looking for after Sooryavanshi had emerged as a lone big success in the last two years. While the domestic market saw the Telugu film do well, the overseas business of the film witnessed a rather power packed start. Actor Armaan Kohli, who was arrested on August 28 last year, was once again denied interim bail by the court on February 22. The actor was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for alleged possession and consumption of drugs. Kohli had reportedly asked for an interim bail for 14-days in order to visit his ailing parents. He later urged the court to grant him bail for two days. According to NDTV, "the NCB, represented by special public prosecutor Advait Sethna, said the accused has been arrested under a relevant section of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for possession of commercial quantity. The relevant section doesn't have provision for bail even on medical grounds, the NCB had argued, adding that the ground mentioned in the bail application doesn't inspire confidence." South Korean actor Park Seo Joon, popularly known for his performances in What's Wrong With Secretary Kim and Itaewon Class among others, has tested positive for COVID-19. The actor is currently in quarantine and showing no symptoms. On Thursday, his agency Awesome ENT released a statement that read, according to Korean tabloid Soompi, "As a preemptive measure, Park Seo Joon carried out tests using self-testing kits before moving to all his filming sets. Actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar has run into legal trouble after a case was registered against him over the alleged portrayal of minors in objectionable light in his upcoming film Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha. It has been alleged that the film features minors in obscene scenes. The case has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO). Along with Mahesh, producers, Narendra, Shreyans Hirawat and NH Studioz have also been mentioned in the complaint. Several reports suggest the case has been filed by the President of the NGO Bharatiya Stree Shakti, Seema Deshpande under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 292, 34, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Section 14 and Sections 67, 67B of the IT Act.
