Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter CRASHES BIG TIME on Monday - fall even BIGGER than Adipurush; likely to end lifetime around Rs. 160-170 cr.

The highly anticipated and promoted Hrithik Roshan – Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter hit screens last week. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film that is high on patriotic drama and promises some high-octane stunts and visuals with aerial action sequences, was one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of 2024. Given the crescendo surrounding the film, the business of Fighter was expected to take a flying start. However, with lacklustre advance bookings the first day business of the film remained low flying with just Rs. 24.60 cr. coming in. But, on its second day, the business of the film witnessed a massive jump of 67.48% from its Day 1 collections with Rs. 41.20 cr. coming in. Sadly, following this massive jump in collections, Fighter has failed to awe at the box office. In fact, the aerial actioner saw a tumultuous drop of 33.01% on its third day running, with its first Sunday business seeing a marginal increase. Now on its fifth day running, Fighter has crashed big time. Colle

Shabana Azmi -Sunny Deol to share screen space for the first time

There seems no end to what the incomparable Shabana Azmi can do on screen. After sharing screen space with Dharmendra in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani for the first time—an unconventional pairing that ignited the screen—Shabana will now be seen with Dharmendra’s son Sunny Deol in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947, although they are not cast as romantic leads. Shabana plays the pivotal part of a Hindu matriarch in Lahore who refuses to let go off her ancestral haveli after it is allotted to a Muslim migrant family from India. Lahore 1947 also stars Preity Zinta as Sunny Deol’s Significant Other. The two were last seen together in the disastrous Bhaiaji Superhit in 2018. Whether Zinta is relocating to Mumbai to resume her career is not known. Fighter claims the no.1 spot at the Worldwide box office; becomes the 3rd Bollywood film to top the worldwide box office

Blockbuster success is measured by the numbers any release rakes in at the box office, the recently released action-packed thriller Fighter, featuring the dynamic duo of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, has set a new benchmark by emerging as the highest opening weekend grosser at the worldwide box office. With a staggering collection of Rs. 209.01 crore in its first weekend, the film has not only captivated audiences but has also established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the global film industry. Among the highly anticipated releases in recent times, Fighter has managed to steal the spotlight with its adrenaline-pumping storyline, stellar performances, and impressive box office numbers. The film's opening weekend collection of Rs. 209.01 crore has surpassed the previous records set by other major releases. Fighter not only claims the top spot but also sets the stage for a competitive race among contemporary releases. The film's success can be attributed to vario

Box office collections in India cross the 12,000 cr. mark for the first time in 2023; shows 14.93% growth over the year 2022

The year 2023 turned out to be a saviour for the film industry. 2020 and 2021 were poor as theatres were shut for most parts of the year. Theatres commenced operations in 2022 in full swing but due to several flops, the year turned out to be a disappointing one. Many expected 2023 to be a repeat of 2022. But 2023 was the best ever for Indian cinema as collections went to an all-time high, bringing cheer to the production, distribution, and exhibition sectors. 2023 was the first time when the gross box office collections in India crossed the Rs. 12,000 crore mark. Until 2019, collections were increasing year after year. In 2019, the collections entered the Rs. 10,000 crore club for the first time as the total earnings were Rs. 10,948 crores. The collections then dropped to Rs. 2,056 crores gross in 2020 once theatres shut in mid-March that year. The cinema halls opened in October/November but the collections were negligible. The collections improved in 2021 to Rs. 3,772 crores but it

Hanuman Box Office: Prasanth Varma film is managing decent footfalls at select screens

With Fighter invading screens all over, HanuMan now is playing at just couple of shows or so at every multiplex. Not that it needed any more shows than these since it had already consumed a large quantum of footfalls in its first couple of weeks. However, the fact also remains that Fighter is now the first choice amongst audiences and that too by a distance, something that's indeed resulting in slight reduction of audience base for it. This was seen on Saturday as well when the collections were just about decent at select screens where the film is playing and ended up being at Rs. 1.40 crores. The good part though is that it has managed to keep its head above the Rs. 1 crore mark and that would ensure similar moolah today as well. In fact, some sort of growth may happen as well today, and though in terms of percentage it may seem high, the fact remains that since the film is down to smaller numbers, the quantum of collections would be just about okay. The Prasanth Verma directed

Fighter Box Office: Misses out on scoring a century by a few crores, should peak today though

After that Republic Day jump, it was expected that in just three days, Fighter will score a century at the box office. That would have made it Bollywood’s first Rs. 100 Crores Club film of 2024 in a matter of the opening weekend itself. Of course, there hasn’t been any other biggie released this year which had a potential to score a century. Nonetheless, it was just a matter of time that the film went past the Rs. 100 crores mark and if not yesterday then that will happen today since the gap is of just a few crores. While the film opened in the 20s on Thursday [Rs. 24.60 crores], it zoomed straight to the 40s on Friday, Republic Day [Rs. 41.20 crores]. Now on Saturday, a regular day with a segment of patrons enjoying an off-day, the film brought in Rs. 27.60 crores. This is good because the collections are greater than Thursday, which was a bare minimum requirement too. Nonetheless, the good part is that there would be good momentum all over again today and then stability from Monday

Following this, the singer released a clarification statement. Fighter Box Office: Crosses Rs. 40 crores mark on Friday, set to enter Rs. 100 Crores Club today

Given the kind of merits that Fighter boasts of, had it released straight on Friday then it could well have had a shot at scoring a half century on its opening day itself. However, since it saw a Thursday release, the ‘first day’ kind of audience got divided and Rs. 24.60 crores came on the first day. Of course, all associated with Fighter would have wanted more and hence all eyes were on Friday to be huge. There is as much as a film can jump from first to the second day and hence even though Rs. 50 crores score didn’t come in, the good part was that a 70% jump was there and that was good enough to take it past the Rs. 40 crores mark. The Hrithik Roshan starrer ended up collecting Rs. 41.20 crores more and now it would be all about the kind of numbers that come in today and tomorrow. So far, the film has collected Rs. 65.80 crores and the bare minimum expectation would be for this much to come by the close of the extended weekend. Today, the drop would be seen for sure since the big

Fighter likely to show a HUGE jump on Day 2; will cross Rs. 35 cr. on Republic Day

After a somewhat lacklustre start on Day 1, the much-anticipated Hrithik Roshan – Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter is gearing up for an impressive turnaround on its second day, with predictions pointing towards a potential crossing of atleast 60% growth with Rs. 35 crore mark on Republic Day. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film opened to a somewhat below-the-anticipated start collecting Rs. 21-22 crore on its first day, drawing major business from the four bustling metro cities – Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and Delhi. However, the tide is expected to turn significantly in the film's favour, thanks to Anand's track record of delivering compelling content and the overwhelmingly positive reviews pouring in. Despite Day 1, Fighter managed to pull in approximately Rs. 21-22 crore, with a considerable portion of the audience turnout hailing from the bustling metropolitan centres across the country. Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and Delhi played a crucial role in contributing to the

Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter falls prey to piracy; full movie gets leaked on torrents

According to recent reports, Fighter, which has been garnering rave reviews across, has become a victim of piracy. The film, which brings together Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone for the first time on the big screen, reportedly is based on the life of Indian Air Force officers. Inspired by real life events, the Siddharth Anand directorial is heavy on aerial action and VFX, as well as it is expected to be a one-of-a-kind film which has now been leaked online. The full movie, reportedly, is available on torrents and other websites which is expected to have released on these platforms on Day 1 of its release, that is, on January 25. From what we hear, the movie, which has been leaked, is even in high-quality HD format and it is being said that this incident can have a heavy impact on its box office collections. Earlier in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Siddharth Anand had described the challenges he faced when he was thinking of making Fighter. He revealed that he had no backg

SCOOP: Varun Dhawan’s next with Atlee titled Baby John

Varun Dhawan had an eventful 2023 as his film Bawaal was adjudged as the most-watched OTT flick last year. Atlee, meanwhile, also rocked the show in 2023 with the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan. It was the biggest hit of the year across all languages. This year, both have joined hands for an interesting action entertainer, which also marks Atlee’s first film as a producer. All this while, the film was addressed as VD18, its working title, and as per reports, the film has got a title. If reports are to be believed, the actioner will be called Baby John. Yesterday, the makers of the film got the Censor Certificate for its teaser from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). That’s when the word spread about its quirky and unique title. Reports also state that Baby John’s teaser will be unveiled in a few days, most probably on Saturday, January 27. Apart from Varun Dhawan, Baby John also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff. It is directed by Kalees and is backed by

Fighter Advance Booking Update: Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone film sells 1.40 lakh tickets

Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor's Fighter has recorded below-average responses in the advance bookings. The Siddharth Anand directorial is closing its advance booking with 1.40 lakh pre-sales in the top three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, which is roughly 55% lower than films like Brahmastra and Tiger 3. The film should have ideally topped at least 2 lakh ticket sales in PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, however, it's 30 percent lower than even the bare minimum expectations. With this advance booking, Fighter is targeting an opening day in the zone of Rs. 22 to 24 crores, and that will also happen only if the film commands strong word of mouth and walk-in audiences towards the evening and night shows owing to the National Holiday on Day 2. The bulk business for Fighter is coming in from the national multiplex chains, and the mass audience is awaiting the talk to book their tickets. Ideally, Fighter should have opened in the North of Rs. 35 crores, but

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan: Ali Abbas Zafar says, “Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff would translate the challenging sequences so effortlessly” as they unveil the teaser

In January, fans were in for heaps of surprises from the team of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan as they team unveiled the first teaser of their film on January 24, after unveiling a series of posters and glimpses from the film. On Wednesday, the teaser digitally premiered across platforms, giving audiences a sneak peek into the high octane action and adrenaline pumping sequences they can expect from the movie, along with a tinge of patriotism. Bigg Boss 17: Vicky Jain gets eliminated; Ankita Lokhande breaks down over her husband’s exit

Bigg Boss 17, which made news this year for marital conflicts, love triangle, and fake relationships, is nearing its finale. Just a day ago, we had reported that after the six finalists were selected for the show, housemaster is all set to play his ace card by voting out another contestant, using his rule of favouritism which was an integral concept in this season. Using the same, it was Vicky Jain, whose conflicts with wife Ankita Lokhande dominated the news, who got eliminated from the house. Abhishek Kumar, Mannara Chopra, and Munawar Faruqui became the first three contestants to reach the finale whereas Arun Mashetty, Ankita Lokhande, and Vicky Jain were asked to pick chits wherein one of them had ‘evicted’ written on it. Followed by the decision Ankita broke down. The actress was seen crying and expressing her angst as she refused to let her husband go. She said, “Mere liye tu hi winner hai. Tu bahot accha khela. Mujhe farak nahi parta tujhe votes kam aye. Meri nazar me tu winner

Fighter Box Office Prediction: After lacklustre advance Siddharth Anand directorial starring Hrithik Roshan – Deepika Padukone to open around Rs. 25 cr

An action biggie, when helmed by a credible director known for his craft of narrating such big budget takes, and with a superstar lead cast and grand production values, is always expected to open well at the box office. We saw that first last year same time with Pathaan when Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham came together for Siddharth Aanand directed Pathaan, and then later with Gadar 2, Jawan and Animal as well. While each of these biggies opened in Rs. 40-75 crores range, the stakes went higher for films that are arriving in 2024 as well. After all, audiences had made 2023 as the biggest year ever for Bollywood films and with Fighter seeing Siddharth Anand return again on Republic Day eve and Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor being the key cast members, the expectations had soared further. That’s the reason why a big number is certainly on the cards. However, Thursday release for a film is always tricky and in case of Fighter too, it seems like the m

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan teaser: Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s MASSIEST film to date; grand action and ‘Hindustan’ dialogue will generate mass HYSTERIA in cinemas

Both Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff had an underwhelming 2022 and 2023. But looks like they’ll have a rocking 2024 if the teaser of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is anything to go by. The 1 minute 41-second-long promo packs in a lot and yet, keeps a lot of aspects of the film under wraps. The first half of the teaser introduces the menacing villain, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Interestingly, his face isn’t shown and his voice and actions do the talking. The antagonist has an AI connection and that adds to the madness. And then our heroes are introduced and that takes the teaser to another level. Both Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are bona fide action stars. Hence, it looks quite convincing to see them doing death-defying stunts. Both also mouth a massy dialogue involving ‘Hindustan’. In cinemas, it’ll be greeted with claps and whistles for sure. In fact, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan seems to be their massiest film to date. The credit for this slick Bade Miyan Chote Miyan teaser should also go

Salman Khan and Karan Johar delay The Bull due to India-Maldives conflict; February schedule delayed by two months

Salman Khan and Karan Johar were all set for their first full-fledged collaboration after 25 years on the Vishnuvardhan-directed The Bull. The team had united at FilmCity in Mumbai on December 28, 2023 for a Mahurat and soon after, it was confirmed that the action thriller will go on floors in February 2023. Bollywood Hungama has the exclusive scoop that the shooting schedule of The Bull is pushed again due to on-going India-Maldives conflict. "Karan, Vishnu, and Salman need more time to decide on the exact route that the screenplay will take. They are reworking on certain elements of the script and will take the film on floors once the ugly relationship between the two countries settles down a bit. At the moment, the February schedule has been delayed by at-least 2 months," a source told Bollywood Hungama. While Vishnu has taken the film on the writing table, Karan is figuring on the other modalities. "Salman is on the same page as the team of Dharma and is also readi
