War 2 Advance Booking Grows - 60,000 tickets sold, Rs. 35 crores opening day now in sight

The Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. film with Ayan Mukerji is finally showing some strength in advance booking in Hindi. After a rather average run in advance booking, the film has finally shown growth with healthy results in hourly sales. With over 1 and a half days still to go, War 2 has sold approximately 60,000 tickets across the top 3 national chains, and is expected to cross the 1 lakh mark by the end of this day. The advance bookings are nowhere close to expectations, but this spike in ticket sales keeps War 2 in the race to have a shot at the final advance booking of Saiyaara, Chhaava, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Singham Again. Feature films like Tiger 3, Brahmastra, Animal, KGF 2, Jawan, and Pathaan are out of the league for this Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. film. To everyone's shock, the final advances of War 2 will also be lower than War 1, a scenario which no one could have imagined. The experts pegged the first day of War 2 at Rs. 50 to 60 crores, but now the film is headed for ...

Coolie takes a lead of Rs. 70 crores over War 2 at the worldwide box office; Rajinikanth ready to conquer the throne

Rajinikanth is in a league of his own. As of his Independence Day release, Coolie has taken a lead of Rs. 70 crore over the Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. led War 2 at the worldwide box office. As the film has a day and a half left for release, Coolie has recorded an extraordinary advance booking of Rs. 85 crores at the worldwide box office and is fast racing towards the Rs. 100 crore mark with advance booking alone. The film is rewriting all box office records, and creating new ones, that will be undefeated for years to come, also leaving behind the combo of Hrithik and NTR by a big margin. On the other hand, the YRF Spy Universe film War 2 has collected Rs. 15 crores advance at the worldwide box office, trailing Coolie by a margin of Rs. 70 crores. The advance alone ensures that Coolie will be the winner against War 2 at the worldwide box office, as it is too big a gap to fill for Hrithik and NTR Jr. led action film. The real game begins once both films release on Thursday, as right wo...

RAJ MANDIR EXCLUSIVE: Coolie (Hindi) sells 250 tickets in just 1 show, War 2 aggregates 500 tickets in 4 shows!

The clash between Hrithik Roshan and NTR's War 2 with Rajinikanth's Coolie is turning out to be a lot more intense than expected. While the Lokesh Kanagaraj film is running a one-horse race at the worldwide box office, it has managed to fight against the YRF Spy Universe saga despite a limited release in some centres. Going against the general norm, the iconic single screen of India - Raj Mandir - has allotted 1 show to Coolie and 4 shows to War 2 on Thursday. And to everyone's surprise, Coolie is scoring better per-show than War 2 at the iconic single screens, despite not getting a single prime time show. As per the data set we analysed early in the morning on BookMyShow, Coolie has sold 250 tickets in Raj Mandir for the 8.45 AM show alone, whereas War 2 has sold overall 500 tickets in all 4 shows put together. The per-show average of Coolie is 250, and there is a high chance for it to get housefull in advance booking alone. The per-show average of War 2 on the other han...

Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office: Goes on a rampage (AGAIN) on Sunday

There is no stopping Mahavatar Narsimha. The film has been defying expectations with every passing day and is collecting more than double of the total of all the other films in the running. It’s a one film show all the way with only Saiyaara being at the second spot, though far away. Otherwise no other holdover or new release is able to collect even 25% of it, which pretty much tells the tale. This was seen on Sunday as well when the film went on rampage all over again and brought in a mammoth Rs. 17.41 crores more. Last Sunday, the film had brought in Rs. 16.27 crores and this Sunday the collections have gone up, which is remarkable. All of this also ensures that between now and Thursday, at least Rs. 10 crores more will be added to the total, hence taking it past Rs. 135 crores. So far, the film has collected Rs. 123.40 crores and there is so much steam still left in it. In fact, if not for War 2 and Coolie arriving, it could well have aimed for that 200 crores lifetime as well but...

Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office: Is EXTRAORDINARY on Saturday, enters Rs. 100 Crore Club

Mahavatar Narsimha is continuing with its extraordinary run at the box office. While last Saturday, Rs. 11.25 crores came in, this Saturday the collections jumped all the more as not just the film entered double digit zone, it actually came close to second Sunday collections of Rs. 16.27 crores. It’s one thing for a film to keep its fantastic business running on a continuous basis and another when the collections keep growing on a week on week basis without any break whatsoever. No wonder, with business jumping to more than triple when compared to Friday collections of Rs. 4.70 crores, the film ended up netting Rs. 15 crores more which is only justifying its blockbuster run all the more. The film is not slowing down at all and rest assured, there would be excellent numbers all over again today too as it builds on top of Rs. 104.14 crores that it has collected so far. Last week, the film had moved up to Rs. 16.27 crores on Sunday and that too with Saiyaara going so strong and new ...

Deepika Padukone exits acting role in The Intern Hindi remake, will focus on producing: Report

The Hindi remake of The Intern, first announced in 2021 with Deepika Padukone producing and starring, is finally seeing fresh developments—though not in the way fans initially expected. Back in 2021, the project was intended for a swift turnaround, with plans for release the very next year. However, after nearly five years of little progress and only sporadic updates, reports now suggest that Padukone will no longer appear on screen in the film. Instead, she will take on the role of producer exclusively, overseeing what’s being described as a “creative and logistical reboot” of the project. A report by Mid-Day quoted a source saying, “This time, Deepika will step away from acting in the film to serve solely as a producer, overseeing the creative and logistical reboot. A new leading lady is being cast to play the part she was once slated to perform.” According to the source, the decision comes as part of Padukone’s broader career shift towards creation and storytelling. “The Intern i...

MEGA EXCLUSIVE: CBFC removes 9 seconds of ‘SENSUAL visuals’ in War 2; deletes 2-second ‘OBSCENE gesture’ shot

The biggest film of the year, War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, is all set to release on Thursday, August 14 and the excitement for it is tremendous. The producers, Yash Raj Films (YRF), completed the censor process in time and in this article, we’ll focus on the cuts given to the spy action entertainer by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The CBFC has not requested any deletions or changes to the action sequences. However, in certain other scenes, they have asked for modifications, including both audio and visual cuts. To begin with, the makers were asked to mute ‘inappropriate references’ in the audio as well as visuals. The changes were made in as many as six places in the film. An ‘obscene’ dialogue was replaced by an approved sentence. Just a minute after this dialogue, an ‘obscene’ gesture made by a character, lasting two seconds, was asked to be deleted. That’s not all. The CBFC asked the makers to reduce sensual images by 50%. In terms of duration, ...

Salman Khan starrer Battle of Galwan to begin shooting in Ladakh; Mumbai schedule postponed indefinitely: Report

The much-anticipated war drama Battle of Galwan, starring Salman Khan as Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, is set to roll cameras in Ladakh later this month, skipping its originally planned Mumbai schedule. Earlier, it was reported that an elaborate set was under construction at Mehboob Studios in Bandra for the first leg of shooting for Apoorva Lakhia’s directorial venture. However, production plans have now shifted. Reportedly, the film will commence its shoot in Ladakh from August 22 to September 3, with the Mumbai leg postponed indefinitely. Creative Call Behind the Change Mid-Day quoted an insider saying, “It’s a creative decision. The makers want to start directly with the action scenes. Also, Salman sports a distinct look, and for continuity purposes, there couldn’t have been a 30-day gap between the Mumbai and Ladakh stints. Apoorva felt that the sequences would need to be shot in succession.” The report further added that the Bandra set, which had been readied for the initia...

No IMAX release for Weapons in India due to War 2; F1: The Movie refuses to slow down; gets another week’s run in IMAX screens

The mystery horror film, Weapons, has been released today worldwide, including India. There’s a lot of curiosity for the film as the pre-release reports have been solid. Though this is not a typical biggie, a section of the audience is excited to catch the film on the IMAX screens. However, the Indian audience won’t be lucky in this regard. It turns out that Weapons will skip an IMAX release in India. A source explained the reason for it, “Weapons releases on August 8, while War 2 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on Thursday, August 14. Yash Raj Films (YRF), producers of War 2, have exclusively booked all 33 IMAX screens in India. Hence, Weapons would have got a run in IMAX for only 6 days as opposed to other parts of the world where it’ll continue to play for at least a few weeks. Warner Bros felt it was impractical to bring the film in IMAX in this country for such a short period of time and hence, decided to skip its IMAX release.” This...

During an interesting conversation with Mayank Shekhar of Mid-Day, the actor-comedian opened up like never before on shocking changes in his life after this episode. Vir explained why he shifted to Goa and why he decided to return to Mumbai, “You can’t write stand-up in Goa. For that, you need to know the pulse of the audience. In Goa, it seems like the day is 37 hours long! Time slows down. What I like about Goans is that everybody, who shows up from the outside, is running from something (smiles). They are trying to deal with something in life and hence, they have come and settled in Goa. Goans are non-judgmental about it. They have seen people in all sorts of tragedies. But then I realized it was time to stop running and come back.” When asked what he was running away from, Vir replied, “Dude, I had no work for a year and a half after the ‘Two Indi...

One of Zee TV’s most popular shows, Kumkum Bhagya, is reportedly set to go off air after an incredible 11-year run. The romantic drama, which began with the beloved pairing of Shabir Ahluwalia and Sriti Jha, has been a staple of Indian television since its launch and is currently tracing the fourth generation of its storyline. As per a source close to the development who spoke to IWMBUZZ, “Kumkum Bhagya, which presently has Pranali Rathod, Namik Paul, and Akshay Bindra as the fourth-generation leads in the show, will soon go off air. The decision, apparently, has been made to end the long-running show. The show has been struggling with a drop in TRPs for some time now." Currently, the series stars Pranali Rathod as Prarthana, Namik Paul as Shivansh, and Akshay Bindra as Raunak, focusing on a new-age romance while still holding onto its family drama roots. Rajinikanth vs Hrithik-NTR Jr. at box office: Coolie takes SHOCKING 6X lead over War 2 in US with 9 days to go!

In a surprising turn of events, the Rajinikanth-led Coolie has taken a massive lead over the Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. led War 2 in the advance bookings at the US box office. With 9 days to go for release, the 6th chapter of Spy Universe has sold tickets worth USD 205K (Hindi + Telugu) in North America, as compared to Lokesh Kanagaraj's film, which has clocked a phenomenal advance booking of USD 1.2 million. One must note that the North American market is dominated by the Telugu audience, and yet, a Tamil film has taken a big lead in the booking. The scenario is uniform at every place where the pre-sales have opened, with Coolie taking a big lead over War 2, which includes Australia and New Zealand too. This trend has come across as a surprise as War 2 is a much bigger film than Coolie on the budget front, as also it comes from an already established franchise. More centers are expected to open soon for both films, but the initial lead in this overseas battle is currently inclin...

A new twist to the plot — vastly different from what Aanand L Rai originally shot with Dhanush in their acclaimed film Raanjhanaa twelve years ago — has angered fans of the film, the director, and the actor alike. The producers of Raanjhanaa, Eros International, have reportedly altered the ending of the film using artificial intelligence to create a new “happy” conclusion. While Aanand L Rai had already voiced his opposition to this AI-generated desecration, Dhanush has now joined the battle, publicly taking a stand against the modification. Aanand Rai confirms that he and Dhanush are “brothers from different mothers,” and are currently exploring various legal avenues to counter what he describes as “a very dangerous precedent.” “I am very worried about my other films. So is Dhanush. We are actively looking at judicial remedies to restore and preserve our creative content from such extraneous interventions,” says Aanand. Apart from Raanjhanaa, the filmmaker and actor have previousl...

Eros International Media Limited has officially responded to criticism regarding the re-release of its 2013 romantic drama Raanjhanaa—now featuring an AI-assisted alternate ending. The re-release, also launched in Tamil as Ambikapathy, has sparked a public backlash from the film’s director Aanand L. Rai and lead actor Dhanush, who expressed disapproval over what they view as a tampering of their original vision. In an official statement, Eros clarified that the AI-altered version is legally compliant, creatively supervised, and specifically intended for Tamil-speaking audiences. The company emphasized that the original version of Raanjhanaa remains untouched and widely available across all platforms. “It does not replace or alter the original Raanjhanaa, which remains widely accessible. This alternate edition follows a longstanding cinematic tradition of offering creative adaptations and anniversary re-releases,” the statement read. Priyanka Chopra is NOT doing a special song in Love & War

There are reports doing the rounds that Priyanka Chopra may be doing a “special number” in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. But a source close to Bhansali dismisses this as the “absurdest rumour in the history of Bollywood gossip.” Said the source, “True, Priyanka had done a special song Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela. But that was done as a favour after Aishwarya Rai, who was supposed to do the number, backed out at the eleventh hour. Priyanka did the Ram Leela song and dance on condition that she will be cast as the leading lady in Bhansali’s next. The promise was not kept and there was a big-fallout between the two. So no, Priyanka is not doing anything in Love & War.” Also Read: Priyanka Chopra reveals saying yes to ‘Ram Chahe Leela’ was “complicated decision”: “But I knew I was her” from Latest Bollywood News | Hindi Movie News | Hindi Cinema News | Indian Movies | Films - Bollywood Hungama https://ift.tt/ytGXqvs https://ift.tt/y2a...

Dhanush slams AI-edited Raanjhanaa re-release: “This isn’t the film I made”

In a shocking turn of events, the re-release of the 2013 romantic drama Raanjhanaa has sparked widespread outrage after the film’s climax was altered using Artificial Intelligence (AI) — without the consent of lead actor Dhanush or director Aanand L Rai. The AI-generated ending, introduced by Eros International, has ignited a heated debate on the ethics of AI in cinema, with Dhanush himself expressing “deep disappointment” and calling the decision a “threat to the integrity of storytelling.” Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dhanush didn’t mince words in his statement, “The re-release of Raanjhanaa with an AI-altered climax has completely disturbed me. This alternate ending has stripped the film of its very soul… This is not the film I committed to 12 years ago.” He also called for stricter regulations to prevent similar alterations in the future. “The use of Al to alter films or content is a deeply concerning precedent for both art and artists. It threatens the integrity of storytellin...

Box Office: Son Of Sardaar 2 crosses Rs. 8 crores, Dhadak 2 goes past Rs. 4 crores

Both Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 saw some growth on Saturday. The Ajay Devgn-Mrunal Thakur-Ravi Kishan film has seen good response from the mass audiences and especially amongst families, and that’s what seeing enhances footfalls for itself. On the other hand, Siddhant Chaturvedi-Triptii Dimri starrer Dhadak 2 has been catering primarily to the elite at major centres. Let’s talk about Son Of Sardaar 2 first. The film is trying to fight it out. Though there has been (forced) negativity around the film, just as was the case with Housefull 5 as well when it was released, it has been trying to find its space under the sun and not giving up. Reports for the film were decent to good by the time Friday came to a close and that is now reflecting in Saturday collections which have touched Rs. 8.25 crores. Of course a lot more is expected out of a biggie like this which is a sequel to the hit Son Of Sardaar. However, with Mahavatar Narsimha running riot and Saiyaara too being major competitio...
