Meera Chopra is renowned for her bold choices of roles on screen. Her upcoming film Super Woman is India's first film on asexuality. The first look of another film featuring Meera, titled Safed , was recently unveiled in the latest edition of the famous Cannes Film Festival. After much fanfare and elaborate promotions around the country, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani starrer Jugjugg Jeeyo released in theatres on June 24, 2022. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul and introduces Prajakta Koli to the big screen audience. While the promotions were grander than ever, the film has opened on decent note in overseas across the 1,014 screens. As expected, the family entertainer’s opening day collections at Australia box office were at 57,764 USD [Rs. 45.20 lacs] from 59 screens. Meanwhile, in New Zealand, the film earned 20,541 USD [Rs. 16.07 lacs] from 21 screens. Going by the current trend, and the word of mouth, the film is expected to see growth over the weekend. The Anees Bazmee directorial Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 starring Kartik Aaryan released five weeks ago. After opening on a good note, the business of the film, which also features Kiara Advani, saw immense growth over its first weekend and first week. Following this, the Bhushan Kumar – Murad Khetani production continued its box office march decimating competition coming in from newer releases. After crossing the Rs. 100 cr and Rs. 150 cr mark, the film is now heading closer to the Rs. 200 cr mark. The much talked about and immensely promoted film Jugjugg Jeeyo hits screens today. Directed by Raj Mehta starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor the film was expected to start with a bang. The film has been released across 3,375+ screens with 11,384+ shows per day. As per reports shared with Bollywood Hungama , Jugjugg Jeeyo has apparently opened on a strong note. In fact, occupancy rate during morning and mid-afternoon shows is pegged at around 20% in urban centres. The film, which is high on style and urban metaphors, has seen a higher occupancy rate in metro cities. The occupancy was however lower in the mass centres. The film enjoys highly positive word of mouth that is sure to drive sales over evening and night shows. Ranbir Kapoor is playing a larger-than-life character for the first time in his career with the action entertainer Shamshera . Ranbir, who is coming to the big screen four years after he delivered the blockbuster Sanju , wowed everyone and also caught people by surprise when the trailer of the much-awaited film dropped! So many films are struggling to bring such kind of numbers even in their first weekend these days and here comes a horror comedy, which collects as much in a week when it has arrived on OTT as well.
