Deepika Padukone's 3 stars are to be
summoned by the NCB in an ongoing investigation into the Bollywood and drug
link. The actors were identified by the codes "A", "S",
"R".
Celebrities such as Shekhar Suman and
Suchitra Krishnamurti recently raised the issue of why only actresses were
called in to investigate the Drug Control Bureau (NCB). The trend is about to
change, with not one but three male actors being called in by the investigative
agency next week. All three male stars are former co-stars of Deepika Padukone,
who was interrogated during an investigation into alleged drug talk, and the
challenge is likely to result in "enormous chaos," the sources say.
According to sources, three stars must be
summoned, codenamed “A”, “S” and “R”. The NCB has found evidence against the
three male stars and it may be called next week.
The likely development of events comes
immediately after information that about 50 popular names, including actors and
directors, are out of sight of the NCB. Earlier it was reported that 10 big
names in the film industry should be summoned and that up to 6 leading stars
have contacted their lawyers for fear of imminent questioning.
Sources told the Republic TV that the
"third phase" of NCB's investigation of drugs in Bollywood will see
names even bigger and more influential than Deepika Padukone and others caught
by the agency. In addition, the four actors so far summoned - Deepika, Sara Ali
Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh - all seem to have all `` read the
same script, '' the sources said, adding that they only piled themselves into
trouble by doing so and realize they are cornered. All four stated that
"hash is not a drug," and two also tried to claim that NCB did not
understand "Bollywood English."
