Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Box Office: Film beats Gangubai Kathiawadi; ranks as 4th highest second weekend grosser of 2022

The Kartik Aaryan – Kiara Advani starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was released a while back and since then there has been no stopping the Anees Bazmee directorial at the box office. After a good start with Rs. 14.11 cr coming in the opening weekend collections of the film managed to cross the Rs. 50 cr mark with ease. Following this, the business of the Bhushan Kumar – Murad Khetani production remained stable over its first week, seeing a spike in collections on its second weekend running.

In this box office report, we look at the second-weekend collections of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 while comparing the same to previous releases of 2022. Collecting Rs. 30.64 cr Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has surpassed the Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi which had collected Rs. 23.29 cr to emerge as the fourth-highest second weekend grosser of 2022. Besides this, the Kartik Aaryan starrer has also outperformed other releases like Runway 34 which collected Rs. 4.75 cr, Badhaai Do which collected Rs. 4.29 cr, Jhund which collected Rs. 2.60 cr, and Attack - Part 1 which had collected Rs. 1.43 cr.

However, despite the roaring business, widespread audience appreciation, and of course, the immense release across 3200 screens the business of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 does not surpass certain other releases. In fact, preceding the film on the list of highest second-weekend grossers of the year are releases like The Kashmir Files which collected Rs. 70.15 cr, KGF - Chapter 2 which collected Rs. 52.49 cr, and RRR which collected Rs. 52 cr.

Going forward, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which has done exceedingly well despite the IPL finals is expected to see continued growth over the coming week. In fact, looking at the current trend trade predictions state that the business of the film has a high chance of achieving Rs. 150 cr at the box office, with an outside chance to even go past the Rs. 175 cr mark.

Gulshan Devaiah has started shooting for his upcoming film Ulajh. The movie has Janhvi Kapoor and Roshan Mathew as his co-stars. Since the movie is about Indian Foreign Services (IFS), the major portion of the shoot is expected to be done in various foreign locations.
