Liger Box Office: Film survives on Saturday; Karthikeya 2 does very well

It was a decent day for Liger [Hindi] as it didn’t go much down on Saturday, something that one suspected. The footfalls were reduced but only marginally so and as a result Rs. 4.25 crores* still came in. That said, this wasn't something that anyone associated with the film would have anticipated before release, though seeing the kind of trajectory that the Telugu version was following already, it wasn't entirely unexpected.

The film has now collected Rs. 10 crores* (including paid preview of Rs. 1.25 crores), though ideally the collections should have actually come closer to the Rs. 12 crores mark by now. That kind of trending was absolutely required for the Vijay Deverakonda starrer action film if it had to take a shot at a Rs. 40-50 crores lifetime. However that won't be the case now by a distance since Sunday may actually end up taking further hit doe to India-Pakistan T-20 match today.

Meanwhile, Karthikeya 2 [Hindi] has benefitted again and resumed its journey in the 'crore club'. On Saturday, the film brought in Rs. 1.50 crores*, which is a very good jump over its Friday numbers of Rs. 0.82 crore. The film has managed to find its target audience and though it's not huge, the good thing is that at least it exists, and that's something which will keep the ball rolling for it. Standing at Rs. 21.50 crores* already, this south dubbed film may have similar numbers as Saturday on Sunday, but the makers won't mind that as long as they stay on to be at least steady.

Gulshan Devaiah starts shooting Ulajh with Janhvi Kapoor and Roshan Mathew; says I am playing a complicated part

Gulshan Devaiah has started shooting for his upcoming film Ulajh. The movie has Janhvi Kapoor and Roshan Mathew as his co-stars. Since the movie is about Indian Foreign Services (IFS), the major portion of the shoot is expected to be done in various foreign locations.
