Territorial breakdown of overseas collections of Liger in its opening weekend

The Vijay Deverakonda – Ananya Panday starrer Liger released last week to a low-key response from the audience. With less than appreciative reviews the film has been fumbling at the domestic box office. In fact, even in the Telugu markets Liger which was expected to rake in big moneys has been facing a tough time. However, in the overseas markets the film has taken off to a decent start.

In fact, Liger has managed to draw in USD 7,02,046 [Rs. 5.62 cr.] at the U.S.A box office over its opening weekend alone. Following this overseas territory are other markets like Australia and U.K & Ireland where the film earned A$ 1,94,507 [Rs. 1.07 cr.] and £ 97,503 [Rs. 90.95 lakhs] respectively. While these international markets emerged as the highest grossing territories, other locations like Canada, Singapore and Malaysia too feature on the list with Liger’s collections pegged at USD 43,349 [Rs. 34.67 lakhs], S$5,955 [Rs. 3.41 lakhs], and MYR 11,892 [Rs. 2.13 lakhs] respectively. Bringing up the end are the regions of Germany and New Zealand where the film managed € 1,588 [Rs. 1.27 lakhs], and NZ$ 994 [Rs. 48,562].

Currently still running in theatres in each of these overseas markets the business of Liger is expected to see further growth. As compared to its domestic performance comparatively the film has been faring much better.

Gulshan Devaiah starts shooting Ulajh with Janhvi Kapoor and Roshan Mathew; says I am playing a complicated part

Gulshan Devaiah has started shooting for his upcoming film Ulajh. The movie has Janhvi Kapoor and Roshan Mathew as his co-stars. Since the movie is about Indian Foreign Services (IFS), the major portion of the shoot is expected to be done in various foreign locations. Sharing his reaction on the commencement of the film’s shoot, Gulshan said in a statement, “It’s been a good year for me so far and Ulajh has a great cast put together and I’m really looking forward to filming this film with them.
