Pathaan Box Office: Film collects Rs. 57 cr on Day 1; emerges as Shah Rukh Khan’s all-time highest opening day grosser

The Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan was released yesterday after much fanfare and hype. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film featuring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham witnessed an immense rate of advance bookings. Going by the same, Pathaan was expected to start with a bang. Living up to expectations, Pathaan released across 5500 screens in the domestic market has started on a thunderous note. In this box office report, we look at the box office collections of Pathaan on its opening day while comparing the same to Shah Rukh Khan's previous releases. Collecting Rs. 57 cr (Hindi Rs. 55 cr + Tamil & Telugu Rs. 2 cr), Pathaan has managed to emerge as the actor’s all-time highest opening-day grosser. In fact, the business of Pathaan has managed to surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s previous releases like Happy New Year which collected Rs. 44.97 cr, Chennai Express which collected Rs. 33.12 cr, Dilwale which collected Rs. 21 cr, Raees which collected Rs. 20.42 cr, Zero which collected Rs. 19.35 cr, and even Fan which had collected Rs. 19.20 cr. Going further, Pathaan which continues the audiences’ appreciation and attention is expected to see further growth in collections. With the Republic Day holiday, the business of Pathaan is likely to record high double-digit collections again. In fact, trade predictions claim that with an extended weekend of five days, the comprehensive collections of Pathaan could easily cross the Rs. 150 cr mark. Gulshan Devaiah starts shooting Ulajh with Janhvi Kapoor and Roshan Mathew; says I am playing a complicated part

Gulshan Devaiah has started shooting for his upcoming film Ulajh. The movie has Janhvi Kapoor and Roshan Mathew as his co-stars. Since the movie is about Indian Foreign Services (IFS), the major portion of the shoot is expected to be done in various foreign locations.
