Selfiee Advance Booking Report: Akshay Kumar – Emraan Hashmi starrer sell over 8K tickets for Day 1 across national multiplex chains

After the mega release Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan and the Kartik Aaryan starrer Shehzada, this week we see the release of a rather novel film, in the form of Selfiee. The film which stars Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi follows the story of a celebrity and his fan. While the premise of the film makes for a rather interesting concept the trailer of Selfiee did not really create the expected buzz among the audience. Now, as the film hits screens today we look at the advance bookings of the same. As per reports, Selfiee has seen an average rate of advance bookings managing to sell over 8K tickets across national multiplex chains. In fact, leading the charge is PVR cinemas that sold 4,200 tickets, followed by INOX with a sale of 2,400 tickets and Cinepolis which sold 1,600 tickets. While 8,200 tickets being sold for its opening day do not really paint an optimistic view, currently all eyes are on spot bookings and audience word of mouth. Going by estimates, Selfiee is likely to see a surge in collections coming in from the mass dominated belt, and single screens as compared to multiplexes. However, trade opines that the business of Selfiee is sure to see a good rate of collections based on reviews and audience word of mouth.

Mumbai Court restricts Kamaal R Khan from posting any defamatory content against Salman Khan

Mumbai Court on June 23 issued an order to Kamal R Khan restraining him from posting any defamatory content against Bollywood actor Salman Khan. According to the court, the image of any individual is “purest treasure and the most precious perfume of life”. The court passed the order after Salman Khan filed defamation suit against KRK. Kamaal R Khan also accused Being Human, a registered Salman Khan's venture of being involved in fraud, manipulation and money laundering. Salman and his team filed a suit in the court following a series of defamatory videos and offensive tweets by KRK on his social media handles. The court found that Kamaal R Khan exceeded his boundary of freedom of speech and his remarks needed immediate strict action.
