Selfiee sees cancelled shows and ticket sales in single digits at certain cinemas; but likely to fare slightly better than Day 1

The Akshay Kumar – Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee was released yesterday to a tepid response. With less than appreciative reviews and lacklustre audience word of mouth the Raj Mehta directorial has taken off to a disastrous start. Though initially the film was expected to do moderately well at the box office, the unappreciative reactions towards the film’s trailer and music have greatly affected the overall box office prospects of Selfiee. Now on its second day running, early reports indicate that certain locations have reported that Selfiee has seen morning shows being cancelled due to low occupancy, while other locations have indicated ticket sales in the single-digit range. However, despite this rather negative report, Selfiee has seen slightly better occupancy on its second day as compared to its opening day. In fact, trade reports have indicated a minute increase in footfalls, but with the audience rejecting the film outright; Selfiee faces a daunting task ahead. Currently, Selfiee which has proved to be another low earner for the action star continues to plod on. Given the prevalent trends the film will have to rely on nothing short of a miracle to see an increase in collections. Trade estimates predict a collection of around Rs. 3 cr. on its second day.
